William A. Brant

Bill Brant was licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas in 1978. Prior to receiving his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law, he earned a M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1972 and a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1971. Mr. Brant began his career in 1972 with the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he worked as a nuclear engineer before joining Brown & Root, Inc. in Houston, Texas, as a nuclear licensing engineer. During this time, Mr. Brant was licensed and served as a Registered Professional Engineer consultant with DiCaro & Associates, Inc. in Houston on issues involving environmental engineering, accident reconstruction, fire analysis and metallurgical failure analysis. From 1980 to 1982 and from 1984 to 1985, Mr. Brant practiced law in Houston, representing clients in cases involving engineering deficiencies and delays with regard to the South Texas Nuclear Project as well as collections, domestic relations, deceptive trade practices, environmental litigation, probate, real estate, personal injury and corporate law. In 1982 and 1983, Mr. Brant practiced law with Windle Turley in Dallas as a member of the products liability department. Between 1986 and 1993, he practiced general civil law with the firm of Stolhandske, Stolhandske & Conley, and aviation, products liability and environmental litigation with the firm of Speiser, Krause, Madole & Mendelsohn, Mata, both located in San Antonio. From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Brant was appointed arbitrator for the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division. In 1993, Mr. Brant joined Nunley, Davis, Jolley & Hill, where his practice areas include products liability, medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance defense, 1983 Civil Rights actions and commercial litigation. Mr. Brant is admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th and 11th circuits, the U.S. District Courts including the Southern, Northern and Western districts of Texas, and the U.S. Claims Court. Mr. Brant's professional memberships include the State Bar of Texas, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Federal Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, the Kendall County Bar Association and the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Brant serves as a panel attorney for the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, judge over proceedings for the Volunteer Teen Courrt, is a graduate of Leadership Boerne, and is a Lecturer on Engineering Ethics at UTSA in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Mr. Brant holds United States Patent No. 5,058,885.  Mr. Brant was selected to present a paper as a member of the Oxford University Round Table in Oxford, England, entitled, “Professional Ethics: A Must for the Global society of the 21st Century”.
